Hans Hedberg (1917-2007) was born in Köpmanholmen, Sweden. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and later at Instituto d'arte della Ceramica, Faenza Italy. In 1948 he started his workshop in Biot, France. During his years in France he worked with Picasso, Chagall, Léger and Matisse. Mainly renowned for his large-scale egg and fruit sculptures with beautiful glaze. Hedberg is represented at MoMa New York, National Museum Stockholm and Musée National de Ceramique Sevres.
