Erik Chambert (1902-1988) was one of Sweden's foremost furniture designers and a prominent artist and textile artist. He constantly developed his design language, chance and waste materials could give rise to new expressions. He used exotic and expensive materials together with excellent craftmanship. Erik Chambert stood with one foot firmly anchored in his hometown of Norrköping and with the other in cities such as Berlin, Paris and Chicago, where he exhibited. He worked in the family business AB Chamberts Möbelfabrik (1883-1974) on Gamla Rådstugugatan, where private individuals, institutions and companies were among the customers.
